Installation at SVA BFA Fine Arts Spring Open Studios of work made throughout the spring semester

These oil paintings continue my exploration into interior settings as sites of estrangement, introducing imagery of corporate cubicles as spaces where individual experience is separated and flattened to fulfill the obligations of contemporary society. My paintings emphasize the layering of their reflective glass surfaces as they recede into each other, creating a matrix of abstracted reflections. This layered quality is explored as a formal element within the medium of painting while also considering how spaces within everyday life are structured to encourage a compartmentalized, solitary existence.
